7 | Wells' passion to mentor underprivileged youth | Brawntae Wells, a junior defensive lineman on the football team, was recognized as the October Playmaker of the Month. He received this award due to his off-the-field passion to mentor and inspire underprivileged youth. This recognition was given out by the Institute for Sport and Social Justice. Wells works as a volunteer youth mentor with the Juvenile Court Services in Waterloo and at the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. The first goal was by Jordyn Rolli in the 31st minute and it was followed in the 72nd minute by Indiana State. The game went into overtime and freshman Kennedy Rieken, named the MVC Newcomer of the Week, came through and won a goal in the 98th minute. 9 | Panthers tie for sixth at Bubba Barnett Tournament | The Panther men's golf team tied for sixth place, carding a total of 891, at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Tournament in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The tournament was hosted by the Arkansas State University at the RidgePointe Country Club, an 18-hole golf course just two hours north of Little Rock. |
