9 Panther state: UNI defeats ISU 28-20 in Ames Panthers football beat Iowa State University 28-20 at the season opener in Ames. UNI was lead by David Johnson who rushed 199 years, had 23 carries, and four touchdowns against ISU. UNI will take on Drake University at their home opener; photo.
10 UNI drops two in Utah Panther volleyball started off their weekend at the Utah Classic with a win against Fairfield University. However, this was followed by losses against the University of Utah and Utah State. The Panthers placed third in the tournament.
