3 NISG passes tuition increase resolution Discussion on a proposed bill to support a tuition increase was heated at times. There were several senators on both sides of the issue. In the end, the resolution was adopted.
4 Get to know the Fourth Ward candidates Jim Miller, Carol Hanson, Marie Schmidt, and Carol Cooper are running for the Cedar Falls city council from the Fourth Ward. This area includes the UNI campus.

5 More than just nutrients Believes that food has not always been looked at as deeply as it is today. In early times, food was accepted as an essential part of the human condition. There was no talk of nutrient content and diet.
6 Increasing our tuition without our permission Finds it ironic that the NISG resolution supporting a 3.75% increase in tuition was still in the office; waiting to be mailed on October 24th. The Board of Regents announced on the 21st that they were proposing the same rate.

9 Spooky Science American Chemical Society students use science to create a Halloween House full of spooky surprises. Several different themed rooms were available to tour. Attendance was excellent. Nitrogen ice cream was a hit; photo.
10 'Mad Forest' shows slices of life in the Romanian Revolution Department of Theatre's upcoming production follows two families during the revolution. The play shows some contrasts between an overpowering government and the government of the United States.
11 Panther fans invited to sing their way to the McLeod Sports Marketing Department is sponsoring a new competition; "Sing Your Way to the McLeod Center". Each person or group will perform the National Anthem for a chance to sing prior to a ball game. Ben Jacobson and Texas Tenor John Hagen will judge.
